Urzema | New Vehicle Models to Be Manufactured in Türkiye Revealed

The new models to be produced in Türkiye have been announced. The RENAULT Group, in collaboration with OYAK, has taken the second step of its €400 million investment decision to increase its production capacity in Türkiye. Starting from 2026, the new C-segment SUV model, Renault Boreal, will be produced at the Oyak Renault factory in Bursa. Initially set to roll off the production line in Brazil, the model will be exported to more than 50 countries once production begins in Türkiye.

OYAK General Manager Süleyman Savaş Erdem commented on the investment as follows: “Renault Boreal will make significant contributions to both the automotive industry and the Turkish economy. Strengthening Türkiye’s role in the global market is among OYAK’s top priorities.” Renault Group Türkiye CEO Lionel Jaillet summarized Türkiye’s position in this process as follows: “Boreal will not only be produced and offered to the domestic market in Türkiye, but will also be exported to 54 countries from Eastern Europe to the Mediterranean basin. Türkiye is positioned as one of Renault’s five major global hubs.”

Renault Boreal stands out as a high-tech SUV with advanced features such as the OpenR Link infotainment system, an E-Tech Hybrid engine, 24 different ADAS driver assistance systems, and a 586-liter luggage capacity. Equipped with a 1.3 TCe turbo engine, the vehicle delivers 138 HP and 240 Nm of torque. Both its interior and exterior design emphasize modern technology and elegance.

Meanwhile, Chinese automotive brands are making production moves in Eskişehir. With the Urzat project, Eskişehir is becoming the new production hub in Türkiye for Chinese automakers.

Established through a partnership between ATMO Group and Urzema Holding, Urzat will begin production in September 2025. While the SWM brand will hold the title of being the first Chinese automotive brand to start production in Türkiye, JAC’s electric model, the E30X, will also roll off the production line by the end of the year. ATMO Group CEO Anton Chernov evaluated the project with the following words: “Our production journey begins in Türkiye. Our goal is to move the power hub of Chinese automotive brands to Eskişehir. Türkiye has become the center of our operations. We aim to achieve at least a 50% market share, starting with internal combustion models and expanding to electric and hybrid vehicles.”

As part of the Urzat project, six different models will be produced by 2029. The process, starting with the SWM G01 PRO, will continue with the G03E in 2026 and an MPV model in 2027. Similarly, JAC will follow the E30X with a PHEV pick-up in 2026 and both hybrid and electric SUV models in 2027.

The new G01 PRO stands out with its sporty exterior design, 1.5 TGDI engine producing 178 HP, and advanced driver assistance systems. Meanwhile, the JAC E30X draws attention with its fully electric structure, 400 km urban range, and high-efficiency battery system. The Urzat factory will initially have an annual production capacity of 20,000 vehicles, with plans to increase this figure to 40,000 units per year by 2029.

Another remarkable aspect of the project is its localization rate: the goal is to reach 30% in 2026 and 40% in 2027. The ultimate objective is to exceed 50% and obtain the “Made in Türkiye” certification. Urzema Holding CEO Murat Ertaş explained this vision as follows: “We are realizing this project with our own resources, without any state incentives. This is not an assembly line; we are building a production center that will carry Türkiye’s engineering power to global markets.”
