SWM Motors to Begin Vehicle Production in Eskişehir
Production at the automobile and light commercial vehicle factory established in Eskişehir by the Chinese brand SWM’s Türkiye distributor, Atmo Group, together with Urzema Holding, is planned to start in the final quarter of this year.
Atmo Group CEO Anton Chernov stated that the facility aims to become a production hub for exports to European Union countries in the medium term. The factory’s initial annual production capacity will be 20,000 units, capable of manufacturing four different models. The local production rate will start at around 25–30%.
It was emphasized that this localization rate is expected to increase relatively rapidly — by about five percentage points each year — surpassing 51% by 2029. The first model to be produced at the facility will be the SWM G01 Pro, equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, with pricing to be announced later.
Urzema Holding CEO Murat Ertaş noted that the total investment is expected to reach 500 million dollars by the end of 2029, financed entirely through the partners’ own equity without government incentives. “We have defined a strategy to transform our local industrial culture into a joint production hub for global brands,” he said.
