ATMO Group Announces Investment Move in Türkiye

After entering the Turkish market in 2023 with SWM Motors, the international automotive sales and distribution company ATMO Group has decided to accelerate its investments. As a Türkiye-based company aiming to expand into international markets, ATMO Group recently established a joint venture with Urzema Holding to commence local production, founding Urzat Otomotiv A.Ş.

This joint venture, initiated with one of Türkiye’s most established industrial groups, Urzema Holding, has determined the production location. Accordingly, SWM Türkiye will begin production through Urzat Otomotiv A.Ş. — the joint venture between ATMO Group and Urzema Holding — at the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ).

Burak Azmanoğlu: G01 Pro Will Be the First Locally Produced Model

Burak Azmanoğlu, Commercial Director of SWM Türkiye, stated:
“Both ATMO and our Chinese partner SWM have great confidence in the Turkish market. With over one million vehicles sold annually, Türkiye has become a significant market. We set out to explore how we could create added value here, and now we’ve reached an important milestone for our country.

SWM, ATMO, and Urzema Holding began this project with a shared vision and belief. Our efforts started in July–August 2023, and we are now at the final stage. We aim to introduce the G01 Pro, specially developed for Türkiye, to consumers this autumn. Our plans also include expanding production with different models in the near future.”

Export Goals

The Eskişehir production base will serve not only the domestic market but also international exports. Azmanoğlu explained:
“At present, our G01 model is available in Türkiye. The G01 Pro, which will be locally manufactured, will enter the market with a redesigned interior, new engine-transmission options, and enhanced technology. Our export infrastructure work is ongoing. Since ATMO Group already operates across the Balkans and Europe, positioning Türkiye as an export hub is entirely feasible. This initiative will generate substantial added value for the Turkish economy.”

Murat Ertaş: Initial Production Target Set at 25,000 Units

Urzema Holding CEO Murat Ertaş commented:
“Many significant models will be produced at the new facilities. In the first phase, we plan to employ 40–45 people, increasing this number to 100 by 2026. With the second phase of investment, we expect to create employment opportunities for around 1,500–2,000 people. The current project aims to reach an annual production capacity of 200,000–250,000 vehicles by 2028. Our goal is to increase the localization rate, which will start at 25%, to over 50% in the coming years.”
