SWM to Begin Production in Türkiye
SWM Motors and ATMO Group—which offer some of Türkiye’s most affordable SUV models—have accelerated their investment plans through a joint venture established with Urzema Holding. Operating under the joint venture Urzat Otomotiv A.Ş., founded by ATMO Group and Urzema Holding, SWM Türkiye plans to begin production at the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) this autumn, rolling out its first locally produced model.
The international automotive sales and distribution company ATMO Group, which entered the Turkish market in 2023 through a partnership with SWM Motors, is now expanding its investments in Türkiye. As a Türkiye-based company aiming to grow in international markets, ATMO Group recently established Urzat Otomotiv A.Ş., a joint venture with Urzema Holding, to begin local vehicle production.
The partnership with Urzema Holding—one of Türkiye’s most established industrial corporations—has finalized the production site. Accordingly, SWM Türkiye will commence production via Urzat Otomotiv A.Ş. at the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ).

The Process Is Progressing Rapidly
Burak Azmanoğlu noted that they reached a preliminary agreement in late 2024 and shared details about the process: “Urzema Holding will take the lead on the production side, and our vehicles will be manufactured in their facilities. ATMO will continue its distribution operations. Both ATMO and our Chinese partner SWM have strong confidence in the Turkish market.”
“Türkiye has become a significant market with over one million annual vehicle sales. We began this journey by considering how we could create added value in this market—and we have now reached a very important milestone for our country through this production initiative.”
Emphasizing that the process is progressing faster than expected, Azmanoğlu said: “As SWM, ATMO, and Urzema Holding, we started this project with a shared vision and belief. Our work began in July–August 2023, and today we are in the final phase. We aim to introduce the G01 Pro model, specially developed for Türkiye, to Turkish consumers this autumn. We are also continuing our planning for the production of additional models in the near future.”
Significant Added Value for Türkiye
The Eskişehir production base will serve not only the domestic market but also exports. Burak Azmanoğlu stated, “At present, our G01 model is sold primarily in Türkiye. The locally produced G01 Pro model will enter the market with a redesigned interior, updated technology, and new engine-transmission options. On the export side, our infrastructure preparations are ongoing. ATMO Group already operates across the Balkans and Europe, making it possible to position Türkiye as an export hub. This initiative will create significant added value for Türkiye,” he said.
Strong Demand for New Dealerships
Highlighting the brand’s rapid growth in Türkiye, Azmanoğlu added: “With local production, our domestic sales volumes will rise quickly. Accordingly, we are expanding our dealership network. After announcing our production plans in Türkiye, we experienced a substantial increase in dealership requests. However, we are proceeding carefully to maintain our high service standards. Our goal is to accelerate growth with strong and visionary partners. We aim to provide customers across Türkiye with exceptional sales and after-sales experiences. In this context, we plan to more than double our dealership network by the end of the year.”
Eskişehir’s Automotive Industry to Rise Again
Urzema Holding CEO Murat Ertaş emphasized Eskişehir’s strategic importance, saying: “When making an investment decision in Türkiye, we conducted a long and detailed evaluation process. Eskişehir stood out with its transportation infrastructure, industrial heritage, supplier network, and skilled workforce. The fact that the assembly, quality control, and testing of SWM Türkiye’s combustion and electric vehicles will take place here demonstrates that Eskişehir is reclaiming its leading role in the automotive sector. For us, this city is not just a production site — it will also be a hub of technology and innovation. Many significant models will be produced at our facilities. Eskişehir will add value to us, and we will add value to Eskişehir.”
